Welcome to the Tug of War Federation of Great Britain

(Established 1984)

Young Farmers Tug of War New Zealand Style

How's This for a tug of war Competition held in China 2008

A special rope was made for the competition, weighing three tons and spanning 1,000 meters. The producer, a cable factory in Jiangsu Province, adopted up-to-the-minute polypropylene materials for its production. The rope has gone through a ten-step testing process; it can sustain a 200-ton pulling force, which qualifies it for a tug of war competition between 20,000 participants.

I struggle to find eight pullers

The Federation has rarely looked in better shape than it does for the start of this new season.

We now have a lot of teams up and down the country. Yorkshire and Norfolk in particular have come back into the sport in a very strong way.

Our new Season looks to be the most exciting for many years, The fixtures list goes from one great competition to the next. Providing a stern test for our top teams, and the perfect learning curve for our new teams.

The fixture list is dotted with Shows and highlighted events. One example is the Southern training league that ends on the Norwich Show Ground on the 29th of April as part of the Game Fair. What a perfect setting to end the training league.

A reminder to teams that they should invite Judges & recorders for their Club Competitions.

The Fixture Secretary only invites officials to those competitions put on by the Federation.  i.e.  Training Leagues,  Intercounties, and Premiere Leagues ext.

Please do it in good time to avoid disappointment.
